Staff Reporter : Asansol, oth July 2025. The National Front of Indian Trade Unions (NFITU) has strongly opposed the nationwide one-day strike called on 09 July 2025 by certain central trade unions such as INTUC, AITUC, CITU, and HMS. NFITU has clarified that it will not participate in the strike and has issued instructions to all its state units to oppose it.
NFITU General Secretary Dr. Virat Jaiswal stated, “This so-called strike is purely politically driven and has no genuine concern for workers’ welfare. Over the past decade, it has become a trend for some unions to call for strikes almost every year under one pretext or another, affecting the nation’s productivity and confusing workers for political gains.”
He further added that states like Telangana and Himachal Pradesh, governed by Congress, have passed anti-worker labor laws, and ironically, unions like INTUC remain silent in those regions.
“These very organizations are now targeting the Central Government with baseless
accusations while ignoring worker exploitation in their own strongholds,” he said.
NFITU urges all workers and affiliated bodies to remain vigilant and not fall prey to such political theatrics that undermine the true spirit of trade unionism and national development.
