Rotary Club of Calcutta Samaritans under the Rotary District 3291 and collaboration with Nature Environment and Wildlife Society celebrated the International Day for the Conservation of the Mangrove Ecosystem 2025 at Chuprijhara Kumirmari Adivasi Free Primary School , South 24 Parganas ,West Bengal and Nolgoradham Baikuntha (Higher Secondary) Vidyapith on 26.07.2024 as Sundarbon is the largest Mangrove ecosystem in the World.
Rtn Smt Sutapa Dutta , Rtn Smt Jayashree Chatterjee , Rtn Smt Gita Sarkar of Rotary Club of Calcutta Samaritans along with the school children of Chuprijhara Kumirmari Adivasi Free Primary School , South 24 Parganas ,West Bengal and Nolgoradham Baikuntha (Higher Secondary) Vidyapith and local residents planted the saplings in the respective school premises with big enthusiasm. Rotary Club of Calcutta Samaritans also distributed a good amount of rich environmental saplings of fruits , flowers, mangrove trees to the school authority .
Rtn Sutapa Dutta and Rtn Gita Sarkar delivered a valuable speech on Mangrove Ecosystem and their importance in the World to protect from natural calamity and environment pollution ..
The programme on Plantation of Mangrove trees in Sundarban areas gets a lot of enthusiasm and love among the school children and local residents.
Lastly, food packets were distributed to the children.
