Staff Reporter ; kolkata, 26th July 2026. Ahead of the festive season, The Aura Gallery, a new initiative by Sai Khadi, has opened on Raja S.C. Mullick Road in Kolkata, showcasing an extensive collection of Indian heritage, handloom, Khadi and Swadeshi textiles. The inauguration ceremony was graced by actress Sonali Chowdhury and actor Abhrajit Chakraborty.
Speaking at the launch, the founders of the gallery, Rinku Singh and Udipta Jena, said that The Aura Gallery is much more than a clothing store it is a heartfelt tribute to India’s rich culture, traditions and craftsmanship. Along with an exclusive range of sarees, the gallery also offers kurtas, kurtis, Punjabi wear and a variety of traditional ethnic apparel. Their vision is to promote authentic Indian clothing while giving due recognition and support to weavers and artisans from across the country.
The founders explained that a significant portion of the collection has been sourced directly from handloom clusters and artisan communities across India. Every garment reflects the livelihood of a family, the legacy of a tradition and generations of skilled craftsmanship. Preserving and celebrating this heritage is the gallery’s primary mission.
The brand’s guiding message is “Tradition over Trends – Wear the Swadeshi Thread,” encouraging people to choose timeless Indian traditions over fast-changing fashion trends.
Actress Sonali Chowdhury and actor Abhrajit Chakraborty said that the diverse collection, sourced from different states of India ahead of Durga Puja, is expected to attract shoppers looking for authentic ethnic wear during the festive season.
The Aura Gallery also highlighted its four core commitments: offering premium-quality Indian traditional wear at fair prices, supporting Indian weavers and artisans, promoting eco-friendly handcrafted textiles, and providing every customer with sincere, warm and trustworthy service.
Through this new venture, The Aura Gallery aims to introduce India’s rich legacy of handloom, Khadi and traditional textiles to the younger generation while strengthening the livelihoods of indigenous artisans and promoting the spirit of Swadeshi through fashion.
